Eclipse of the sun

At this new moon the moon passes in front of the sun - partial solar eclipse :D

I always like to take natural events like this as an occasion for a break from everyday life. A time that does not exist out of our artificial system, but follows the ancient rhythms as they beat long before our time and shaped our culture.
Karate Throwback

A mix of a few training videos, a minute from an eternity of wonderful moments.

Unfortunately, there are no pictures of the vast majority of the exercises. The way body and soul grope together in the movements is hard to describe.

The theme from Naruto perfectly transports the energy I love so much during training =D

On our previous trips by car we always had too much with us, which you pay on foot of course with extra sweat. So this time it was: reduce to a minimum.

1. tent
2. 2 folding mats
3. 2 sleeping bags
4. backpack with change of clothes, cell phones and money, towels
5. water canister
6. bag with drinking bottle, cereals, bowls and spoon
7. toilet bag
8. snack bag, bananas, apples
9. solar charger
10. cat backpack as a hiding place
11. cuddly blanket as a veranda
12. bag with cat food and feeding bowl

Looking back, we could have just saved the long cloth pants and some cereal rations - not so bad :)
Castrop to Marina Flaesheim
POSTING
Morning departure from Castrop, the sun in the bright blue sky makes the temperatures soon rise towards 30 °.

So in the fresh air, but that can stand quite well ✨

After several kilometers along the canal, we finally cross Datteln and leave the city behind us. The car practically rolls by itself :)

After almost 30 kilometers we reach Marina Flaesheim, a small natural sand bay as a connection of a lake with the canal. We even get a place, although the reception has long closed - yippee :D
Full moon hike

Tomorrow we venture on a very special little adventure: a hike over the 8th full moon of the year with our cat ZELDA together :-D

Zelda and tent in the handcart.

Besides the interest in the landscape away from the coast, a traditional dish of potatoes and CHEESE was our main motivation to let our trip end in Kolašin.

And it was definitely worth it in terms of quantity! In long strings deliciously melted cheese is dragging on our plates while distributing the "portion for 2 guests". The stomach fills faster than expected!

Without wasting anything we are full until the next evening =D
The Horror Bridge of Doom :D

Our last stop in Montenegro should be a guesthouse in the north, we were still looking for a very special feature of the country - but more about that later.

Because between us and the house stood first of all this... yes it was a bridge, technically speaking. Whether it would also carry our car was not clear to us - also because of the holes in the wooden floor.

A short chat with a few residents via Google Translate (when the Internet was finally up and running) resulted in an amused, clear: yes!

Well then... take a breath, aim exactly at the center and through! :D
Manastir Ostrog
POSTING
Ostrog Monastery is located high up in the mountains, an hour and a half drive from Skadarsko.

A parking lot nearby facilitates the visit, but there is no getting around the last few hundred meters of stairs. The monastery was built in the 17th century, back when getting supplies up there must have been a sweaty issue in itself.

Impressive mosaics decorate the walls, which merge directly into the rock.

From up here you have a fantastic view over the whole valley.

In the souvenir store we find - much to our amusement - a kind of trading card game for holy figures. However, unfortunately, still missing game-technical value specifications on the cards ;)
A wonderful evening walk
POSTING

During an evening walk, not 5 minutes later we suddenly stood in front of the Church of St. Toma and immediately noticed that there was something strange here.

The church looks like somehow removed from the world. Crooked and overgrown with vines in the middle of the slope from which you look down on the green valley.

We learned the story later from a neighbor: many years ago it rained here for 40 days and nights at a stretch, a heavy landslide devastated the slope. Many houses were buried, only the church slid perfectly intact for more than 150m, turning 45° and finally coming to a halt with a 17° slant.

For the inhabitants of the valley it must have been a miraculous sign at that time.
